Vintage Celebration Weekend

The first Margate Vintage Weekend

Margate is set to welcome summer in style with a town-wide Vintage Celebration Weekend from Friday, 2 May, to Sunday, 4 May, marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day and the start of the town’s summer season.

Taking place across Margate’s Old Town, Upper High Street, Marine Terrace, Market Place, The Centre, Cliftonville, and NorthDown Brewery and many more venues, the event promises three days of family fun, nostalgia, and community spirit.

This fun-packed weekend is a chance for us all to come together, with proceeds supporting The Veterans Association Birchington.

Margate Vintage Weekend

We’re kicking off the summer season in style!

What’s happening?

This free, town-wide celebration will feature vintage-themed window displays, exclusive offers, live music, street performers, and themed food and drink throughout Margate.

We’re kicking things off on Friday 2 May with an evening of retro sounds from Si Cranstoun, bringing the feel-good vibes to get the weekend started.

Saturday 3 May is set to be the main event.

Several streets across town – including the Piazza, Market Square, The Centre and parts of the High Street – will be closed to traffic to make space for live music, dancers, drummers, street parties and family-friendly activities all day long.

WWII History talk / Northdown Brewery

Sat 3 May, 3pm - 4.30pm
Margate Arc will be hosting a 90 min chat about what Margate was like during the war, with plenty of stories. And the brewery will spoil you with a free half pint.
Free but book here.
